Zone Cross Country
When: Friday, 17th of May
Where: Lakeside Sporting Complex
Time: Arrive approx. 9:45am. Need to marshal at 9:55am to walk course at 10.00am
Permission Notes: Each school is responsible for their own children on the day and therefore need to organise their own permission notes. Small Schools without an accompanying teacher should hand consent forms to convenor on arrival. All larger schools need to keep their own permission notes.
Important Information
- Marshalling will commence at 9.55am.
- All races will finish on the field near the marquee.
- Race distances are approximately 2kms for Juniors and 3kms for Seniors
- Canteen facilities and coffee van will be available.
- CANCELLATION – will only be postponed if Council close the grounds. If this is done on the morning of the carnival radio stations will be notified and requested to broadcast announcement and on the Port Stephens PSSA Facebook page.
Rules
- All spectators are to stay off the track and behind the cones while races are on.
- All runners must wear shoes.
- No help or water during race
- Puffers are allowed during the race.
- Protests may be made by any team manager to the Convenor at the finish line.
- Children should not bring soccer balls, footballs, tennis balls etc.
The first six placegetters in each age group will be invited to represent the Zone at the Hunter Cross Country Trials. Permission notes will be sent to schools after the carnival. The next two placegetters will be reserves.
Races will commence at 12-minute intervals from 11.00am
11:00am – 8/9 girls
11:12am – 8/9 boys
11:24am – 10 girls
11:36am – 10 boys
11:48am – 11 girls
12:00pm – 11 boys
12:12pm – 12/13 girls
12:24pm – 12/13 boys
